Telamont, a Quebec City construction AI company, joins Y Combinator

The company joins the accelerator's Fall 2026 batch, which accepts under 1% of applicants.

QUEBEC CITY, September 22, 2026 – Telamont Technologies Inc., a Quebec City company building an AI platform for construction project risk management, today announced it has been accepted into Y Combinator, the Silicon Valley accelerator behind Airbnb, OpenAI, DoorDash, Reddit and Dropbox. Telamont joins the Fall 2026 batch and is among the few Quebec companies selected.

Construction megaprojects lose money in the gap between what the contract says and what gets built. A discrepancy between the drawings, the geotechnical study and the applicable code slips through at tender, then resurfaces eighteen months later as a seven-figure change order, at the point where correcting it costs the most.

Telamont connects to a project's document sources and pulls every revision as it lands: drawings, specifications, prime contracts, subcontracts, geotechnical studies and schedules. Each document is scanned on arrival against the rest of the record and the applicable codes, and technical, contractual and regulatory discrepancies are flagged the same day. Monitoring continues for the full duration of the project.

I'm the third generation of a family that built in Quebec, from the Île d'Orléans bridge to the James Bay dams. The megaprojects announced for the coming years will be managed with the same document practices as the ones that went off the rails. Y Combinator gives us the means to move faster, while those projects are still being planned.
